With immense pleasure this year Smiley Hearts will collaborate with the association ATKYE which is an association formed by volunteers registered with FOSIT (Federation of NGOs of the Swiss italian side. ATKYE supports the education of children in the coastal region of Kenya (Kilifi County) through its own school and collaborations with other schools. Its project is to offer a basic education to young people, so that they can envisage a better future, personal and for the region.

In June I will personally spend two weeks at the school where I can live in direct contact with schoolchildren and teachers with the possibility of interacting directly. The cultural exchange will certainly be strong and the basis for growth by both parties. In addition to the school, the association maintains an agricultural fund (Shamba) where corn and typical legumes of the region are grown, chickens, rabbits and goats are bred to give a complement to quality food. A nursery that currently hosts 100 children to allow mothers to remain in the labor market.

The association has various ongoing projects, such as expanding the school to accommodate more students and improvements at the institute's kitchen and water system.

The collaboration aims to support the implementation of ongoing projects, contributing personally and with the entire sum of the donations that will be made (donation confirmation available).
